Judging by the news report, the police do not appear to have used particularly forceful methods to subdue him; it is possible that the man of Moroccan origin had some underlying health issues, provided, of course, that the news report is accurate.

It’s entirely possible to condemn the rioters setting cars on fire AND the police officers who restrained a man until he stopped breathing. Politicians and unions always try to force this into an either/or situation. It’s not. You can demand law and order from the police too

Authoritarians always start by saying that any violence against the police is unacceptable. That’s the obvious sign that other people have become second class citizens. The correct way to express that sentiment is that violence against anybody is unacceptable.
