Fighting a war for survival is a major driving force for innovation. Especially if you start on the back foot. And if Ukraine has proven anything… they are very good at innovating!

As everything in life nothing is as simple as being made out at times. I totally salute Ukraine for many things but in this case this has not developed out of a vacuum and fully alone either. Having the support of many NATO nations, getting access to their catalogues of tech and development has played a huge role in this as well. Ukraine is allowed to pretty much do as they want, everyone is blind on at least one eye due to their situation. Any other nation sending unmanned ground vehicles would be subject to a lot of questions.

To be fair, it’s the first conflict of its kind in 80 years.

      Uhm, no ?

Ukraine is showing how to fight with very little, because that is where they are, including Russia.

Modern war with well prepared and stocked military will end very quickly with one side dominating the air and just keep obliterating the positions of those who have lost the air war.

EDIT: You can downvote me all you want but that doesn’t change the facts. Ukraine’s airforce is mostly conducting air defense role and the RUssian one is doing some very long range strikes with little capability to do sead or dead to allow for proper delivery of strikes on front lines.

It’s clear mass-produced cheap drones are the future of warfare, especially for a smaller country than their adversary.

Expect Ukraine to launch a space mission to Jupiter anytime soon….you heard it first here, boys! 😂

Western militaries don’t want to listen.

Most have huge bureaucracies, in defence ministries and in senior ranks. None of whom want a future of cheap drone warfare because it threatens the expensive platforms they have built their careers on.

They want ships to captain and planes to fly. Moving to drones means making much of the military obsolete and they will fight against that.

We could end up with the modern equivalent of cavalry fighting tanks, unless vested interests are overcome.

    9. Old Western weapon systems are still at least on par with ruzzias newest developments
