Ciao. Quindi il mio idiota di fratello mi ha spedito le mie cose dagli Stati Uniti (invece che dalla Germania; è una lunga storia). Ora questi sono stati acquistati parecchio tempo fa e vengono utilizzati. Qualche consiglio su come dovrei rispondere all’e-mail? Sono stato informato della spedizione solo una volta inviata, quindi non ho potuto fare nulla al riguardo.

Do what the third paragraph says?
Do you know what exactly was shipped and do you still have any old invoices?
If you no longer have any invoices, I’d make a list of the items, the estimated purchase date and the estimated price of when you bought them and explain that you no longer have any invoices because of how old the items are. I’d also include a note that these are (if that’s the case) intended for continued personal use.
Maybe some context, such as who send you this email, who send what to whom and for what reason it was send, etc.
Ok, customs thinks that your brother is a seller. I would rock up to the customs counter and open the box in front of them and let them see that it’s old, used stuff.
My mom constantly sends me crap and usually when I open up the boxes and the customs agents see what kind of old crap it is, there is usually no customs fee.
If you moved here within the last 6 months, tell them it’s “Umzugsgut”.
Same thing happened with me .
I told them that the package is sent by my sister.
So i attached a copy of my passport and a copy of her passport showing that we are brother and sister (same sirname) , they allowed it .
Doesnt really matter where you live , and where the shipment is , they should know that you are not lying and its not a commercial parcel , its just personal stuff .
In the future, use SendMyBags. They walk through all the required documentation base on departing and arriving countries, upfront, before tou get any mailing labels to print out. Plus the cost is about half what DHL or commercial carrier would charge.
