From their tone and the topics raised, it seems the pro Western coalition, that both of these gents are a part of, who decided to support Pashinyan during these Kremlin bankrolled, Friar Tuck marches, are shifting gears back into constructive criticism mode. I am assuming they saw that the situation is under control and there is no real danger towards the stability of the state and the government, so they started bringing up the real shortcomings of the Pashinyan government.
Apparently the Lawyer’s Guild/Chamber of Lawyers of Armenia has become dominated by anti government, corrupt, ex-regime affiliated folks, and Khurshudyan is demanding for the government to allow another guild to be created as many legit lawyers don’t want to work with a body that’s drenched in ex regime influence.
They also talk about the current government’s unexplained soft approach towards anti government financing from the Kremlin and the freedom that Russian propaganda outlets have in Armenia. They demand to follow the steps of Moldova (which apparently has a higher freedom of speech rating than we do apparently) and close down all of the Russian media and stop the influx of Kremlin cash, with stricter cash transit policies and checks.
They also criticize the new planned tax hikes on small and micro businesses. Khurshudyan says it is a terrible idea, which I agree with, and that the amount of pain in the ass and potential anger it will generate, is not worth the few million that it will bring to the budget. Our government has a flat tax policy now, and it really is dumb to charge the same rate from Grzo, Lfik, Dod, and Banani Mihran and some mom and pop shop. Tax evasion is still popular amongst the big guys, and they find new creative ways to do so. Nothing gets people as angry as an unfair tax policy.
Basically, “nature is healing” kind of an interview, where the true opposition starts doing its job again, and demands proper changes and faster steps towards EU integration. They keep saying that all of the Western ambassadors are noting that Armenian authorities lack capacity and resilience. Meaning we have shit staffing in the government.
