They’re both right.
I don’t know about you, but when I see stories like this one I cringe — because the country (US) I’ve inherited is not worthy of the sacrifices made by this veteran and his fallen comrades in arms.
In a cynical world, where propaganda hits you from many directions, this strikes me as a genuine, human connection and interaction. Hard to script and plan such a thing. The way it should be.

The veteran has seen so much sacrifice to fight for freedom only to see it all happening again.

I’ve got tears in my eyes. Beautiful. These heros are why I’ve done research on all issues and voted since the day I was old enough. I would never have thier sacrifice be in vain.
