France here, most frenchies that aren’t assholes will appreciate you trying to speak french, even if you’re not very good at it. The cliché about us not being fan of people “butchering” our language is mostly true about Paris (to an extent).
(The thing is that Paris receives a lot of tourists all year round, and as is often the case with very touristic places, the locals can quickly lose patience with the tourists.)
Zelenskyy’s french was very good in this clip. Perfectly understandable, with a slight Ukrainian accent.
I’m extremely proud of the warm welcome Mr. Zelenskyy received in France. Well deserved. Slava Ukraini.
