      How about per capita though?

Just to know if we are doing ok now or if we were simply tragic before.

I was driving a rental around the entire island. You can not drive fast in Cyprus the roads have more curves than Nicki Minaj

When I was getting my drivers license in Paphos I remember my instructor telling me not to stop at a specific stop sign that lead to a roundabout because no one does and he had been hit there before. I haven’t driven in Cyprus for over a decade though so I hope it is better now.

Even though we all hate them…it seems that the cameras are doing their job

That is the first EU comparison chart I’ve seen showing Cyprus making some real progress. 😳 Finally! Keep them coming!!!!

What the hell is going on in Ireland that causes a 31% increase?

Things will get much better in few years when half the Island is monitored by speed cameras. Like it or not it plays a big part in someone’s psychology knowing that there could be a mobile camera at any corner.

    8. As a Brit who’s driven in a handful of countries. Cyprus is my favourite to drive in.

Roads are very fun and engaging. Locals drive very well.

Well obviously when you come from a massive total amount the % decrease will be the easiest and highest. Also the streets are not jammed with traffic like in the other EU countries

Of course we have a decrease in deaths the people that caused accidents died the years before. There for , cant die twice.Natural selection.

Could be bacause last year was the lowest in accidents (also low in deaths)? We are ony see the reative change not tha absolute vaue (or per capita). This can just be a regression to the mean effect.

I remember 2024 started from two deaths in Limassol in road crash, right in the NY night. 2024 won’t be so greeny.

    13. -17% in my country?! Thats a damn long way but i bet ill still hear about road deaths on romanian news

    14. TheShtoiv on

I’m sure we’re down 35% only because it’s impossible to have a road accident when you’re stuck in traffic 24/7
