Argentina’s President Javier Milei has approved a plan to send five Dassault Super-Etendard combat aircraft to Ukraine. This decision involves negotiating with France, the US, and NATO to bypass the British embargo preventing the use of these aircraft due to the Falklands War. The plan includes a potential swap with France, exchanging the Super Etendards for military equipment like drones or helicopters, with France handling the necessary upgrades to the aircraft.
The fighter jet could be delivered with MBDA Group’s Exocet Missile.

Um. I dont really get the point of adding another aircraft to their airforce especially when its only five. But lets go i guess..

Argentina is not in Nato so these may come up with some retired volunteers 🙂

These would be the 5 Super-Etendard that are sitting in storage since 2019 due to the missing parts. Argentina has recently retired the 11 other Super-Etendard they have due to lack of parts. Its basically up to France if these things things ever fly again. Can’t imagine that there are many pilots with recent experience in these jets. France retired 2016 and these Argentinian ones seemed knackered. Their pilots probably didn’t put many hours in recently.

I still don’t understand why every country gets to send jets but Sweden was asked to wait… the Gripen fighter is NATO compatible and would also help Ukraine.

Gripen can be used on roads and doesn’t need many groundcrew workers.

Why isn’t Sweden allowed to send Gripen???

Great gesture from Argentina but don’t think they could be of much use to Ukraine due to their age.

Take them, use them, try to eject out when unable to pull over safely… Otherwise take everything and anything (within reason) to fight the war.

At the end of the day, it’s being used as intended

Non-technical idea here. Drone them, and fly them with lots of payload in to the bridge columns. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

not sure how those planes would be useful. Maybe as training aircrafts
