thank god it’s not one of those “Did you know that famous person was armenian?”, I really was ready to read how all these people related to armenians
The Armenian Museum of America in Watertown, outside of Boston, Massachusetts has a great collection of his work.
On the 4th picturwe this man has truly Georgian genetics, you can detect his Georgiannes with one look.
p.s. OP is Georgian
I was amazed when I found out that most of the iconic portraits of the 20th century were done by one photographer, and then I found out he was Armenian. Its so tragic that the greatest and most talented Armenians could only learn and implement their talent outside of Armenia.
He photographed my favorite band Rush as well.
Yousuf Karsh* was an Armenian Genocide survivor from Mardin, he later immigrated to Canada.
for a second i genuinely thought churchill was armenian before reading the description (i hate him with every bit of myself)
Have you checked Ara Güler?
I keep a five pound note in my wallet in the US to explain this because I am in fact the world’s most annoying diasporan.
Muhammad Ali’s mom was Armenian tho.
Not nearly as famous as Karsh. But also check out Kourken Pakchanian, who was photo editor of Vogue and Arthur Tcholakian.
He photographed so so many people. I went to an exhibit showing his photos at the Museum of Immigration in Halifax, Nova Scotia and it was amazing. He truly was so gifted!
Survived the genocide, emigrated to Canada and really worked hard for the ‘Canadian dream’
Ngl for a sec I thought this post was about how all the people in the photos were Armenian and it was the greatest shitpost of all time
Everything good except for Fidel
Yousuf Kush?
