I have been saying for months, Kherson seems like it will be Ukraine’s next push. It is the least defended, it would do some serious work on Russia’s numbers in the east. Crimea is being wiped clean, Ukraine has slowly been setting up on that front. It would also be the easiest way to get behind much of Russia’s lines along the south. Taking Crimea means 100% sea control and control over a lot of the Ukrainian coast under Russia’s control.

This map shows clearly where Putin’s priorities are. General Ben Hodges is correct: this war starts and ends in Crimea.

The S-500 SAM deployment is an attempted trap.
The russians hope Ukraine will be so eager to nail it that they’ll carelessly expose their ATACMS and HIMARS for russia to strike.

An S300 battery is $120-$150M. Only parts of it were destroyed, so let’s assume $70m x 11= $770M. That’s quite a loss for Russia.
