Fire up the Patriots! Shoot them down over Russia.

I’d say get to a safe place and get to cover. Not familiar with how these apps work but airplanes from the East may mean an aerial attack.

Those look like Tu-160 Blackjack silhouettes, it’s probably an incoming volley of standoff cruise missiles

I wonder what’s up with the plane in back? ELINT? Special munition? Back up to take the place of first one to get shut down?

The second “oh shit really better get to cover” alert for Kyiv came in very quickly after the first – that’s usually not a good sign and means something is coming in fast. Please stay safe.

it just needs NATO to shut all those down. Why not?

They have been adding more of these elements over the last months. It better visualizes the threat at a glance. It is just a representation of the origin of the threat. Here we see a significant amount of bombers in the air in the East (= significant missile launch threat) and activity of missile carrying Russian Naval activity in the south. After a while it helps you better judge how urgent the threat is for your specific location.

Jeez, sad that most answers ITT aren’t answers to your question. I understand that most people just want to sympathise but it’s unhelpful.
They’re TU bomber planes. Tonight it was specifically 5 TU-95s. Please note that the number of plane icons do not accurately indicate how many planes are in the air.
You can click on the icon of the planes and see what time they were recorded. Grey (like the boat icon) means it’s not fired. Red (like the plane icons) means it has fired.
Telegram is where you’ll get fast info. /war_monitor is one of my personal favorites and is 99.99% of the time accurate and quick to update info. If you search for the telegram channels of the region you’re in, you’ll also find good info if your region is in the vector of the missiles.
