The total climate damage caused by the russian federation in two years of full-scale invasion of Ukraine amounts to $32 billion. This data comes from the updated assessment of the Initiative on Greenhouse Gas Accounting of War (IGGAW).
According to the study, the first 12 months of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine led to the emission of 120 million tons of carbon dioxide. However, in the 24 months since the invasion emissions have significantly increased to 175 million tons of carbon dioxide. **This exceeds the annual emissions of a highly industrialized country like The Netherlands, putting 90 million new petrol cars on the road, or building 260 coal-fired power units of 200 MW each.**
Here is my Kremlin logic answer.
1. It’s NATOs problem.
Reason: NATO was encircling the Federation. Therefore NATO is to blame. To prove this point observe that 🇸🇪 and 🇫🇮 have now joined NATO.
2. NATO caused this
Reason: if it had not been for NATO then ~~the full-scale invasion~~ a spetznat soldat operation would not have been necessary. Because of the potential threat to the territorial integrity of 🇷🇺 from NATO it was necessary to violate the territorial integrity of 🇺🇦 to prove that NATO is in the wrong.
3. NATO will pay
Rationale: NATO is the real criminal and any criminal activities linked to the Kremlin Federation is the fault and responsibility of NATO.
4. NATO is not a real country
Explanation: Our Federation proved that NATO was not a real country in 2014 when we were welcomed with open arms by our territorial brothers and sisters on our holiday island retreat of Crimea. This welcome was extended in 2022 by our full-scale rejection of NATO aggression.
5. Our Federation is stronger than NATO
Proof: we have half a million proofs of this who are now dead for NATO purposes. Some may be injured or captured but all our dead in our effort to destroy and fight the NATO aggressor.
Conclusion: it is NATOs fault. They did this. We are blameless. They are responsible for all of it. We are only defending ourselves from their aggression.

I think Russia ought to pay Ukraine something like $3tn for this war. They won’t, but they should.
