Reminds me that it wouldn’t be the first time artillery would be given AA roll.
Yamato class had 18″ “birdshot” AA shells for the main guns too.
If they actually worked it would have been more like an area denial weapon.
Can it shoot down a glide bomb is my question. It it can then it would make a great point defence for all the realatively low speed aerial threats.
Arm Ukraine now and protect it from all invaders.

It’s not a bad idea. Theoretically it has a place sitting behind lower calibre systems as part of layered air defence. Have your 20mm AA battery sitting at the front, 155 a few kilometres behind, missile batteries behind that.
Cost per shot seems to be the issue with it though. At 86k per shot and needing multiple shots it’s not much of a benefit. Ideally it’d be at the cost of a regular artillery shell and less blingy.
