Proteggere un volontario è triste nel segnalare la perdita di un altro volontario. La sua squadra ha avuto un incidente di massa, molti feriti e dispersi, presumibilmente morti. Ciò è ancora più difficile perché in precedenza abbiamo sponsorizzato il suo compagno di squadra morto lo scorso novembre e abbiamo appena organizzato per lui la raccolta fondi per la guerra elettronica

We aren’t saying his name publicly yet. We started supporting this volunteer after the death of his friend and teammate, written about [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/17zpqps/we_honor_another_volunteer_that_was_recently/).

The previous volunteer’s donors wanted to assist his friend so we matched them together. They have now lost their second volunteer and we are all gutted.  He sent the picture above just a few days before his death.  To me, it is fitting that his last picture was one that so embodies Ukraine.

This was the volunteer for whom we just did the [electronic warfare fundraiser](https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/1dcwks0/urgent_need_for_ew_drone_jamming_system_for_a/). It was obviously a critical life and death situation. But we were too late.  Mere hours before we sent him the money to buy this system, he was lost and we didn’t know.  For all the donors who contributed, please know that we are trying to determine what, if anything, can be done to retrieve the funds to use for other teams. It is crushing to think that we couldn’t save him and his team in time.

This volunteer came from eastern Europe and understood too well the need to fight against Russian aggression. He was exceptional, funny, solid, courageous and dedicated. Although he was deeply heartbroken by the death of his friend, he felt a solemn duty to put the unit first, keep up morale and be strong for his men. He desired to carry on the legacy of what his friend built.  He was often scared but his commitment and love for his team gave him courage and strength.

One of his donors offered these thoughts: “He explained many times that he had gone to this conflict because he felt his country and family were at risk of future Russian aggression. He never complained of his situation and continued to further himself in leadership training to help his fellow brothers in arms.  He will be missed immensely and will be in our hearts forever.  Rest in peace,  warrior, fiance , protector of freedom and friend ”  I’m sure his other donors will add their thoughts to this post.
