Nuke anything is very very expensive to make and to maintain. And these would be largely useless in an actual conflict. Huge waste of money.

It’s like the Germans using precious aluminium during ww2 to make ridiculously complex and expensive gas mask holdersfor the army. They were very well designed, but the material, labor and $ could have been spent in a more advantageous way. As the allies didn’t use chemical weapons, they were basically useless.
