Why on earth do you think it’s necessary to film kids/teens minding their own business and uploading it to the Internet?

Did you ask the Bahn service lady for her permission to be filmed? And the shots of the teenagers are just creepy. I’d delete the vid and cut this stuff out.

    4. In case you’re wondering why people in this sub are giving you a hard time for showing people in your video: privacy rights are taken very seriously indeed in Germany, and if anyone is the main focus of a shot you must have their consent before you publish their image. There are exceptions, but the shot of the lady in the tourist information office is definitely not one of those exceptions. The multiple shots you have of what are clearly minors are also problematic (you need the consent of their parents or legal guardians).

Probably nothing will happen, but if one of the people in your video (or the guardians of one of the youngsters) files a privacy complaint, YouTube might have to take down your video. You can be thankful that’s how it’s done, because in theory they could sue you.

I realize as an American you’re used to the idea that people in public have “no expectation of privacy”, but that’s not how things work here. You might have filmed somebody in a witness protection scheme, or somebody who is being stalked, or a child who has been removed from an abusive father, for example.

I hope you have written permission of the lady in the tourists information and the girl on the train. Filming and posting content like this is illegal in Germany without permission.

How did you travel? From Frankfurt with the ICE to Mannheim HbF and then with the RNV 4/4A to Bad Dürkheim?
