The British flag is flying at half-mast outside the Embassy in Kyiv today, as Ukraine observes a Day of National Mourning to honour the victims of Russia’s cruel missile attacks yesterday. We will remember them. This evil must be defeated.

To fly a flag at half mast you raise it to the blocks, and then lower it by one flag width. Normally around here we see it flown at half staff, where the flag is half way up the mast. Trust the British embassy to get flag protocol right.
