Long story short , corporates and private income taxes are funding their pensions . It is the same in every EU country . Now the question is , why the hell the public have higher pensions than the private sector ? I think I know the answer 100k Luxembourgish are working there , 100k votes . Well done for them!!!

My grandpa gets a fonctionnaire pension that’s nearly 3 times my current salary. When I asked him why its so high, he explained me that back then when you retired, you got 6/7 of your old salary. But it was common to give you a hefty payraise for the last few months of you working to bolster your pension. His pension has been cut twice already and he also supports further pension cuts for the 6/7 retirees. He makes way to much money for his current expenses and he knows he is in a very very privileged situation.
But yeah. The situation is fucked, completelely insane and just a fucking joke.

I am surprised by how few there are on the pension, based on the article with 13,944 pensioners, and 1.2 billion in fund flowing, each are on an average pension of around 86k a year, for easily 20 years
