      Dunno what happened to my comment to go with the post, but here is a brief overview.

      He explains the situation as his Su-35S falls (My guess as it’s single seat Flanker, and a glint reflects off the characteristic unpainted titanium section of the horiz. tail plane while it falls away) away to the ground. Rough translation: Russian pilot says he was ambushed, along with his flight by Ukrainian jets, who attacked from higher above them and they could do nothing against the Ukrainans. They had no idea the Ukrainians were there until it was too late, and he both admits the situation is very bad – fucked (pizdets) – but also is very grateful to be alive.

      He’s happy to see there is ground below – I suppose instead of him ending up in the Black Sea, or another large body of water, then he of course descends through that thick and both beautiful and terrifying cloud cover, which isn’t the safest thing to do, but what choice does he have…

      – So, attacked, in an admittedly quite good and modern Su-35S, no advance warning, no sign of Ukrainians until it’s too late and they are attacked.

      Hmm. Perhaps we have one of the very first Ukrainian F-16 with AMRAAM kills?

      As much as the excitement around F-16s is understandable, I don’t see strong evidence that this was shot down by them. Time will tell, so literally calm your jets people!

      I hope that this pilot landed on a spike. Here’s to hoping.

      I know these things can be faked and doctored up. But I just want to ask a question.

      Are we under the assumption that the video footage is from wintertime, but all of the dialogue from the Russian paratrooper is saying he was ambushed by Ukrainian fighter jets from above?

      If the dialogue is accurate and matches, the video wouldn’t that mean this wasn’t from winter and was in fact from an F 16 strike?

      I’m just like all of you, I don’t want to celebrate early but when we know American F-16s are in the sky over Ukraine, shooting down and killing Russian invaders. I’m going to celebrate like a motherfucker.

      So please, if someone can confirm and verify the audio is a Russian saying the Ukrainians just ambushed us with F-16s I will be more than good to go

      Could be sidewinder in a jamming heavy environment. The aim-9x is lethal and there is no warning since its a heatseaker.
