Russian athletes were allowed to compete in the Olympics despite their country’s war against Ukraine. At the same time, none of them publicly condemned the actions of the Russian authorities. Yaroslava Mahuchikh criticized the IOC for allowing Russians to participate in the 2024 Olympics.

I don’t understand why they’re allowed to participate at all? I don’t understand why these athletes don’t speak out against the war, are they scared or compliant?
