Remember the Polish uprising in Warsaw WWII. Russia was waiting outside Warsaw until the uprising was smothered.
Not giving anny support…. a crime in itself.

1953 – russian tanks crushed the uprising of citizens in czechoslovakia
1953 – russian tanks crushed the uprising of workers in eastern germany
1956 – russian tanks crushed the uprising of citizens in poland
1956 – russian tanks invaded the newly declared neutral hungary and crushed.. well pretty much anything
1968 – czechoslovakia (again)
those are only the ones i know from the top of my head- but i know there were much more…
