Non ci sono prove che la Russia abbia forze sufficienti nell’Oblast di Kursk per lanciare una controffensiva nella regione, ha dichiarato il 16 agosto ai media locali il tenente colonnello Mattias Puusepp, vice capo di stato maggiore della divisione delle Forze di difesa estoni.

It would be fun if Kursk suddenly became a country.
It is a genious move. Technically Ukraine doesn’t need Kursk but Russia has to do every effort possible to regain it so Putin can “keep his face” while Ukraine can use this “bufferzone” to take back their land in another place such as donbas.
Almost all RF fighting forces are south of Kursk.
Rather than waiting for RF forces being transported north, turn south and isolate/cut the supply lines in the rear.
Army redeployments are easy to monitor. Big trains and large columns will travel north. While one the move, they can not fight and are sitting ducks.
That is the moment to attack. Railroads follow well-known tracks. You can dial in the GPS coordinates 3 weeks ahead of time.
In the mean time SOF can mine railroad junctions.
