Ciao cari svizzeri!

Because they sell alcohol online through Denner.
went to check the statutes https://report.migros.ch/2020/media/statuten-mgb-d-07112020.pdf
“Die angeschlossenen Genossenschaften sind verpflichtet,
[…]
Verkaufsstelle could be interpreted as only physical stores but i feel iffy about it
The “Partner” banner might also play a role so to say the actual seller isn’t migros and they are only a Marketplace
also interesting that after viewing the item in your screenshot on the site myself, i tried going up into the wine etc category, it errored telling me there is nothing, BUT i could switch over to the online offers, there all the alcohols you could imagine became available, so it seems they take a certain seperation technicality seriously, that doesn’t mean much in practice though
Another thing that seems like a possible loophole, the alcohol and tobacco ban in the statutes is binding for the connected Genossenschaften, no mention that the central part is bound to do the same, and the website Impressum lists this
Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund
Limmatstrasse 152
CH-8031 Zürich
Migros Online Ltd
Chemin du Dévent 11

thats what im seeing, really interested if someone has more insight or if they discussed this publically before
Migros online used to be LeShop and they always sold alcohol. Actually wish they kept the name.
I suppose technically once could consider this an investment in gold. lol. Migros supermarkets do not sell alcohol, but they sell it online, in denner, and I think in some of their smaller “Lino” type stores.
That’s nothing new. Migros Online always had a quite big alcohol section.
It’s just always labeled as either “Partner” or “Denner” meaning to indicate that it isn’t actually Migros who sells it to you but either Denner or a Partner who distributes through Migros Online.
