I Paesi Bassi hanno ordinato 51 radar per droni mobili da donare all’Ucraina

Defense purchases 51 mobile radars. Today the contract was signed at Robin Radar Systems in The Hague. The systems are able to detect small drones and distinguish them from birds, for example. What is unique about the radars is that they do their work while riding on a platform. Later this year, Defense will donate those systems to Ukraine.

The radars monitor the environment for the presence of drones, even at high speeds. Because the detection system is mobile, it is more difficult for the opponent to find the radar and therefore less easy to neutralize. This makes it possible to continuously detect enemy drones and then disable them.

Defense has previously purchased radars from Robin Radar . These were static and are currently deployed at various locations. Feedback from users included a request to continue detecting while driving. Further development of the radar system has provided this new functionality.

Defense is expected to donate the 51 radars to Ukraine in the last quarter of 2024. They are going there in phases. In Ukraine they are essential to counter drone attacks from Russia.
