John Donne’s [great prose poem](https://www.luminarium.org/sevenlit/donne/meditation17.php) works in many ways. The bell tolls and tells many things. As the father and daughter rested to the ground, I heard the bell toll. It was ringing for them. The daughter was hearing the bell, the father was. And this bell, too, rings for all of us.
Damn I wish I was that strong!
