And this is why I always bring my own food.
Last time I was in, I was there for four days. Food wise, I have protein bars, home made snack bars, croissants (these babies keep remarkably well), my own coffee and coffee cup (just asked for hot water), I also had bananas, chewing gum and soup packets (again, only need hot water).
I also had changes of clothes, cellphone, battery packs, personal hygiene products.
I came fucking pre-pared
EDIT: Headphones and earplugs, by the universe you need them

I had good meals with public health insurance when I had to stay in Vivantes after a surgery for two days.

Normalerweise gibt es dazu noch einen seltsamen Joghurt aus einem osteuropäischen Land der kein Fett enthält, dafür unmengen Zucker.

Last time I was in hospital I always had to send back like half of it because they kept pumping me full of cheeses.
So yeah this either looks like a) somebody got put on a diet and they did not realize it or b) shitty hospital

You went to the wrong hospital. Some hospitals offer special wards for private patients that also have better food.
