A dire il vero è piuttosto bello vedere un rapper mostrare tangenzialmente il suo sostegno, anche se non è una condanna aperta della Russia, da parte di un ragazzo sposato con una delle più grandi artiste femminili di tutti i tempi (Rihanna), nientemeno.
La maggior parte dei team A&R/PR degli Stati Uniti sconsiglierebbe di includere qualsiasi informazione che potrebbe essere desunta a sostegno di una questione politica controversa, soprattutto nel caso di un conflitto bellico che dura da 10 anni e che è giunto al culmine negli ultimi due.
Apparentemente questo è stato girato anni fa, quindi è quasi certo che lui stia andando contro il giudizio delle etichette pubblicandolo, poiché sono incentivate a raggiungere il pubblico più vasto possibile.
quindi questa è una piacevole sorpresa a mio parere

I would like to make it known as well. There is a propaganda talking point that gets spread about A$AP Rocky that he is pro Russia because he had a chain made that said Z on it
People interpreted this as support for the Z army
But this is not true.
A$AP Rocky’s real name is Rakim. He himself was named after an old school American rapper named Rakim
Rocky’s son is named RZA, nicknamed Z for short after the American rapper RZA
It’s a family tradition.

Additionally he actively opposes Donald Trump who is pro Putin, even going as far as to disavow Trump after he played a role in freeing him from Swedish jail. On a local level all Rocky’s political stances have aligned with democrats who as a party are staunch supporters of Ukraine
Probably one of the weirdest music videos and one my favorite. However this is not a new or recent video. I remember seeing it at least 2 years ago. I like it, but I don’t think it has anything to do with this war or support for Ukraine, which doesn’t mean he doesn’t support Ukraine, just that this video/headline/and comments are misleading and misunderstood.

But notice how all the background actors are wearing shapka ushanka and the setting is a cold, dark, gray and decrepit post Soviet neighborhood with stalinist architecture, there is a mafia or titushky wearing the adidas track suites, they are drinking vodka in the public bathroom, they are driving the volga, and add any other ruzzian/soviet stereotypes i may have missed. honestly, aside from it being filmed in kyiv, there is nothing about this that paints any realistic picture about kyiv or ukraine. i dont know this rapper’s music but he basically just painted a picture about kyiv and/or ukraine like how the ruzzians view ukrainians – like one of them but lesser. gross af
