      Excerpts:

      • The mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner from the center-right CDU, says that the projected results of the votes in Thuringia and Saxony should make mainstream politicians rethink their ways. “This is a wake-up call that we must not ignore, maybe the last one we get,” he told Germany’s *Tagesspiegel* newspaper.

      • The latest projections for the outcome of the elections in the eastern state of Thuringia show the Alternative for Germany (AFD) nearly nine points ahead of the Christian Democrats (CDU).

      • Even if the AfD is not in the government, the fact they’re on track to control over one-third of the seats means they would be able to block some state assembly decisions, such as voting for judges.

      • Some two and a half hours after polling stations closed in Saxony, exit polls still gave the conservative Christian Democrats (CDU) a thin lead over the Alternative for Germany (AfD), followed by the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW).

It feels like a lot of European governments have ignored anti immigration sentiment to the point that they’ve enabled far right populism to emerge.

They need to be brave enough to be honest about why so many economies are dependent on migration rather than pander to far right sentiment.

      *’This is a wake-up call …’*

Bitch, they’ve been polling well on the state and national level and garnering parliamentary seats for the better part of a decade now. And established parties are still making surprised Pikachu faces every time the AfD is climbing one further rung on the ladder that leads to power. Höcke will be elected chancellor some day and SPD/CDU/FDP politicians will blabber *’Oh, now* ***this*** *really is a wake-up call now …’*

Go continue running the infrastructure into the ground, messing up digitalisation, ignore the housing crisis and pretend everything is a-ok when it comes to immigration … and see whether that solves the AfD problem.

    4. A problematic migration policy is no excuse to vote for an holocaust denier and someone you are legally allowed to call a Nazi… its not

Years of austerity and not investing in communities are a recipe for disaster. The resulting disillusionment and inequality have created a toxic breeding ground for extremism. The rise of the AfD is no surprise, it’s the inevitable consequence of decades of neglect and disregard for the most vulnerable.

So then the current chancellor should stop blocking the const. court from doing their work.

I feel like for many of these voters in the country I am from the immigrants are not as much of an issue but more of a potential solution to fix the way they are feeling and have been feeling for a long time now. The feeling that things dont work their way in NL.

Governments enjoy suppressing wages by having an inflow of relatively cheap labor. Influential businesses generally support that too. Simultaneously, demographic data forecasts huge problems economically. Instead of supporting housing and families, again, it’s cheaper to have immigrants.

This is a belief system. The governments for decades are liberal in the classical economic sense. Most parties follow that (whether they realize it or not).

The parties create a false sense of choice by emphasizing their differences from each other. Most parties are very similar in most policies, more than they are different. This is a sort of distraction for us voters. We aren’t good at maintaining such an overview.

Such wealth disparity and hollowing of the middle classes was a sort of result that demonstrates those liberal immigration policies work. It is also a precursor to voter dissatisfaction and general disenfranchisement we see now.

    9. East germany has the least amount of migrants anyway.

      It is just Nazism.

When all the migrants are gone they are coming for the opposition, then women, then jews again…

Even education shouldnt be that big of an excuse in germany regarding history.

But obviously not everyone can come to germany, and criminals should be sent back. Especially muslims are very open about not assimilating. That is a problem.

I think people dont make enough money anymore to support themselves or a family properly without stress.

as wage slaves we lack freedom. Probably happening all over the western world.

I think that is the real issue. Not wokeness.

Yeah wake up and stop selling out your country to Islamists

That’s what happens when problems are consistently ignored. People will seek alternatives. Conservatives are gaining popularity all over the europe because they promise to deal with actual problems that others refuse to deal with (they probably won’t deal with any problems, but people are fed up).

There are no good options. Even here all politicians seem to be equally incompetent. Prices are rising, salaries aren’t. Conservatives promise to fix it (their solution is to suck russias dick), and current government ignores the problem or makes it even worse. The worse is the situation, the more people will be willing to suck dick.

Don’t think anyone would care if it was women and children arriving, but it’s like 95% males from the videos

Because it went so well for them last time.

Seeing lots of comments defending this with “Well, the government is ignoring how much the people hate those specific minorities”. History doesn’t repeat, but it does rhyme.
