Ok, and where will extra mobilized come from? If older people are a no-go, then younger ones are the only option. So, how is taking younger, more capable workers supposed to improve the economic situation? “To improve the economic situation” is just an excuse.
I was surprised to learn the average age of Ukrainian soldiers is 43. I think it’s brilliant actually, I would not want to send my son to fight in a war which wouldn’t be willing to serve myself. Young people are the future of the nation

People supporting this need a swift kick into the nuts. Sure with 55 you won’t be the young grasshoper running around like rambo but there are tons of logistics jobs that need to be done not requiring physical strength.
The greatest generation of USA in WW2 were not grandfathers. they were young men 18 to 35. Yes many of them died. but those that survived came back and made America even greater. As for the population? it baby BOOMED. For the nation it was overall a great win.
Makes no sense. The oldest should all go first if they’re able. You’ve lived a long life, had ample time to know the world and build a family. On average you probably have 10-20 years left at 50. Your land is under attack, go defend it and protect your youth.
What is the current age limit?
I don’t know what the mandatory should be, I guess that’s for Ukrainians to decide. Personally I would want to serve no matter what age I was. When your country is invaded that’s what you do, as many grey haired Ukrainians have already done. Better to die in battle than to live as a zombie slave to the Harkonnens.

One of the many things I hate about a war is that old people are usually the one who started sht (not Ukrainian in this case) but they’re the one who don’t wanna fight because they’re old lol.
