The article says nothing about the mining technique but it’s semi technical on the tank.
I think it is saying someone had a stupid idea that they tried and since it worked it must not be stupid and is now secret.
TL; DR The Russian assault depended on a lead demining tank, but that lead vehicle was destroyed by a Ukrainian mine despite all of its fancy anti-mine capabilities.
After that loss, the rest of the group was destroyed or retreated. Presumably because they couldn’t safely advance.
The article offers no information on how the Ukrainians were able to sneak a mine past the demining tank’s capabilities. Save to imply that it involved Ukrainian special forces somehow.
For the rest of the secret, we will just have to await Ukraine’s victory!
