      It’s important to note that even though this idiot won our election, a large majority of Dutch actually support the EU, ranging from 70-80% in recent polls that I’ve seen ([source](https://www.eumonitor.nl/9353000/1/j9vvik7m1c3gyxp/vh93qqnk8atd)).

      This is a populist. Nobody really cares for what he thinks because he’s just against it all. I know quite a few people who voted for him but they sure wouldn’t want a Nexit.

      Article implies that this guy is actually the leader of the Netherlands. You only know he’s not if you know he’s not, but less-informed people may see this headline as a national leader giving his opinion internationally, when its just an inward looking vision he has.

      A good basic axiom is that you want the most power over your life to be based as locally as possible, with state and national governments holding less and less authority as they oversee larger areas. Your police force should be a local force. Judges should be selected from local legal communities.

      Taxes should be collected at municipal levels and transferred, in tiny streams, to larger govs.

      Obviously this creates some challenges around spheres like defense, but nothing that can’t be worked out.

      The great benefit is that those who wield the power to lift-up or destabilize our lives live in the communities we do, and are close enough – and accessible enough – to hear how we feel about their choices.
