Can you do this for Bulgaria, I think that’s one of the more controversial takes.

Fun fact: Bosnia has one of the highest percentages of indigenous european hunter-gatheter yDNA in its population. It’s concentrated in the south and common in croatian dalmatia as well. People from these regions are exceptionally tall, even for our countries’ already tall standards.

Czechs are the best Slavic people. Cheers from Croatia

I would have expected the Basque region to be lower.

I’m always suprised to see how distant the south slavs are to us when looking at such maps

Do i see territory of Polabian Slavs here?
Also, I’m Polish and when I was for the 1st time in Ukraine, beside obvious similarity of Ukrainian language to Polish, it somewhat hit me that Ukrainian language sounded to my ears also a bit similiar to Czech language.

The question remains: are Serbs and Bulgarians less genetically Slavic than Romanians?

We still share 99% of our DNA btw.

What a shit map. Western Europe is cut up into regions to show similarity and then you have Poland (using it to prove my point). Poland literally borders Czechia so shouldn’t it make more sense that there are more people with similar Ydna near the Czech border than lets say on the border with Lithuania?

Why are they so similar to Hungarians?!

Czechia is the real center of Europe. It has always been balanced between Slavic, German, Northern and Southern influences (except for the period of time when the Soviets tried to cut it off from the West).

Hmm. Finns and Czechs would make healthily diverse offspring.

How can Italy and Greece be closer to czechia than serbia a Slavic country that’s closer to them even geographically

Absolutely no new information. That’s just a verification of history and genetics. How is that map interesting? It depicts exactly what I know and would have guessed about the Czechs.

I think it was the former Czech foreign minister Schwarzenberg that once said he considers Austrians and Czech the same people divided by language, I can definitely see now what he meant.

Andalusia is not surprising, since there were migrants from Central Europe coming in the Early Modern Era.
