Holy cow, have only heard HBG’s voice on the podcast. Always so surprised to see what these guys look like. Except Francis. He looks exactly how I imagined.
Hopefully the west will release restrictions on weapons, at least to protect their own investment…
This is what havens when politicians prosecute the action.
No, you win wars by telling the aggressor that if they don’t stop, you will ensure they are eating through the straw for rest of their days. And if that doesn’t dissuade them, proceed to do exactly that
This isn’t an existential war for the West. Most of Europe just woke up to the Russian threat and realized that they’ve let their militaries decay too far.
My theory is that the West is using Ukraine to delay/erode Russia until they can rebuild. That would be at least 5-10 years. Ukraine gets just enough to survive without risking Russia attacking NATO before it’s ready.
That’s rough for Ukraine, but with direct NATO intervention off the table (and it is), the only other option would be to abandon Ukraine to its own devices. Hopefully Ukraine will actually repel the invasion, and I think NATO will militarily intervene in a few years, but that’s not going to happen until NATO makes substantial progress rebuilding.
