Building a crude nuclear bomb is a weekend project for most engineering grads (minus the fissile material ofc), building a bomb small enough and robust enough to be mounted on a missile is something that requires a long development process.

Iran is a breakout state from a fissile material perspective, it is most likely not a breakout state from a weapon design perspective yet.

If they’ll get weapon designs and knowledge transfer from Russia it’s pretty much game over.

These events only further highlight why the “Moscow isn’t going to launch a nuke in response to some Storm Shadow strikes” talking point is a straw man. Yes, we know Russia probably would not use a nuke in response to some Storm Shadow or ATACMS strikes in Russian territory. But it has 6 ways from Sunday; it can severely harm the US. More military support for Iran, more military support for North Korea, more military support for Venezuela (and other LATAM countries), and more military support for states & groups in Northern Africa that are anti-American and anti-European. Maybe they can destroy our underwater infrastructure so, on and on. Thus, Russia has so many ways to inflict real pain, far short of bombing NATO bases in Poland or going DEFCON 1 on Ukraine.

TLDR : allied group complicit to genocide in Palestine is now alarmed that another allied group committing to invading Ukraine is now sharing weapons.

There are no good guys in this equation.

Honestly so what? Iran isn’t a threat to anyone outside of the Middle East. If we can live with Pakistan and North Korea having nukes, then does it really matter if Iran has them? MAD is still a thing, and it still works.

If anything, this will calm Israel down and stop the government from doing everything it can to drag the US into a war. Israel might have to learn to actually live with its neighbors, and make a fair deal with the Palestinians.

The US government sure failed to make that happen with diplomacy. Maybe the rebalancing of power will change things for the better.
