Sweden uncovered an Iranian hacking operation to send text messages in a bid to sow fear in the Nordic country.
Swedish prosecutors concluded Iran was behind 15,000 text messages sent on Aug. 1, 2023, according to a statement on Tuesday.
The messages sought to sway recipients to exact revenge on people burning Islam’s holy book after a number of such incidents in Sweden, saying “those who insulted the Koran must pay.”

I’m not sure if sanctions are enough at this point.
Wouldn’t surprise me if something similar was going with the Palenstine protests that have been happening in Europe this
past year. And no, I am not saying that just because someone is pro-Palestine they are paid by Iran. But the whole protest movement felt more orchestrated than organic this time around. And why wouldn’t Iran be all over something like that if they’re involved in damn near every other aspect of that conflict? Much easier to agitate people around that issue than Quran burnings, too.
And I base this on exactly jack shit except a gut feeling, to be clear.
