The market speaks clearly on the government’s housing policy failure but funnily the government supporters who go on about free markets somehow go deaf on this one. Strange that.

We get what we vote for.

I, for one, hope it rises by a lot more 

It is depressing how long this has been this has been going for, the planning system in Ireland is not good and that deserves a fair whack of the blame. The majority of blame goes to the government and I would blame local authorities more but that is like blaming a baby for not being to do anything. All the parties are not able to face up to the fact that to fix this the housing crisis: unpopular and tough decisions are going to be made. Trying to do everything and upset no one is going achieve the exact opposite soon.

Questions like:

– what is the goals for towns and cities? Do we want to increase population density to be able provide better services. What are the long term plans for them?
