I had never heard about Jota before (Slovenian cuisine is completely unknown in Hungary), but I had some sauerkraut and leftover ham from Easter in my fridge, so I looked up recipes and came across one for Jota.
Ignore the red stuff on top, it’s Erős pista – a spicy pepper paste that is obligatory for me as a Hungarian.

Looks great, but my granpa would say that there is still some more space in that plate for more jota! Plus you should eat it with some white bread or homemade bread.
