L’ho preso dal Wiener Feinbäckerei di Francoforte – ne hanno un assortimento di tipi diversi sotto “partybrötchen” – non ho mai saputo qual è il nome esatto di questo tipo quindi continuo a ordinare “gemischt” xD

doesn’t look like a simple wheat flour bread. I’d guess some kind of rye or spelt bread.
Why don’t you show them the photo next time and ask for the name?

My bet would be on some type of Roggenbrötchen. Meaning it will likely be made of wheat/whole wheat flour with an addition of rye flour, which brings in the typical color and taste.
