I’m trying to find the artist and name of this sculpture in Austria – in hopes of finding a model of it for a Christmas present for someone who recently returned from a trip to Austria. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried contacting Hallstatt parish, town hall or tourist information board, or even just searching their website or Wikipedia page? Random artwork in minor rural villages isn’t usually by great household-name artists that anyone would recognise.

This type of statue is called Pieta, so I assume that would be the name.

The form/style of statue is called a Pietà, which is a special form of Lamentation of Christ. I’m pretty sure that this is also the name of this statue. Judging from the style of Marys clothing I would say it is (neo)gothic. You could also try to send a mail to the Bundesdenkmalamt (heritage office)
