      the biggest problem for Assad is the lack of meat for the meatgrinder

      Young Syrian men have fled the Assad controlled territories for a decade to avoid forced conscription into the SAA

      in many countries, roughly 70% of Syrian refugees are young men

      so while overall 1/3 of population has fled Assad controlled territories since 2011, some Syrian journalists have estimated that up **to 60% of young men under 35 in Assad controlled areas have either died or fled to other regions/ other countries**

      **Hezbollah helped Assad with roughly 40k troops in the past ,but now they have lost thousands in the war in Lebanon, and they still have to be there since Israel could reignite the war at any time. Plus ,their leadership got thinned out this year**

      only salvation for Assad will come from Houthi mercenaries, Iranian troops or Russian soldiers

      in all cases, its a good outcome for Ukraine

      The Tahrir al-Sham saw an opportunity because of the obliteration of Hezbollah leadership by Israel. So basically this is a spillover of the Israeli invasion of Lebanon, which itself is a spillover of the war in Gaza.

      Islamist rebels* – this is not good for Europe. A stable secular dictatorship is better than an islamist state.

      Literally anybody except ISIS is better than Bashar al-Assad. Even an Islamist dictatorship under HTS would be weak enough to be steamrolled by the SNA or SDF, and it would *still* somehow be less totalitarian than Assad.

      People underestimate just how horrifically *evil* Assad is. This is a man who murders his own citizens with chemical weapons and cluster bombs, this is a man whose entire army is dosed up 24/7 on amphetamines (which he also exports en-masse to Europe), this is a man whose army tortured someone until he said “*there is no God but Bashar al-Assad*”.

      The Syrian Arab “Republic” is a monstrosity that needs to be destroyed. Bashar al-Assad himself deserves to be torn limb-from-limb by the people whom he has oppressed.

      Basically the Assads, Hezbollah and Russia the ones who had butchered many Syrians are being fought by a strange alliance of Turkey backed Islamists (some of whom are terrible) and secular forces for change. The Kurdish SDF I assume are watching on the sidelines in the East. Let’s see.

      Please don’t cheer for yihadists, just because Assad is a dog doesn’t mean you have to support ex Al-Qaeda forces, that’s just like the communists that cheer for Putin because he opposes the US

      Im not going to celebrate Jihadists capturing a major city full of civilians for those who dont HTS are Al Qaeda in Syria renamed either way Jihadists having another major stronghold is not good for anyone.

      Are we talking rebels or IS? Because as far as I know Assad is a common enemy for both.
