Switzerland has changed from what I remember it as a child
Is this were we celebrate being first in something without reading the what it is actually about?

And a vast, vast majority of those people are from France, Germany, Italy so like… calm down lol

Without reading too deeply into it, there appears a pattern about serious crime and where you were born. As an expat, my sense is that Swiss are generally well behaved / good morals / safe as a society. So folk that were not born here and grown up with the Swiss values, are disproportionately committing the serious crime.
The explanation must be extremely complex, too complex for a reddit comment

Most people dont read this right, we have a very high population of foreign born ones, sometimes double the percentages, while the percentage of crimes committed isnt double. If you look at Greece nearly half the percentage of foreign born people compared to us commit nearly the same amount of crime compared to the rest of the population.
So immigrants are 3x more criminal than Swiss people?
How is this news? Its been like this for 30 years. Its SVP main argument and the reason we had the Ausschauffungsinitiative
I mean not knowing the local language is a huge barrier when it comes to being able to integrate in to a society and contribute to the local job market.
Many people know English, not a lot will be able to speak German, French or Italian.
Then there is also the topic of having refugee not even being allowed to work.
Boredom makes the worst decisions.

i think switzerland is much better at integration and assimilation.
I’m not too sure, but there are a lot of criminals coming from other countries. Like burglars who come to Switzerland for one or two weeks and then disappear again… They are probably also reflected in the statistics. A large portion of the prisoners are simply people who don’t have a residence permit.
In Switzerland, you really have to commit serious offenses to end up behind bars. The ratio of people in jails is very low.
We have an excellent education and social system in Switzerland. The social services are helping swiss born children from birth.
I guess the vast majority of swiss born prisoners are inside for crimes that cannot be simply avoided through better education and better social services (e.g. murder, drunk driving, wife beating and so on). While a lot of foreigners are in prison for crimes that could be avoided through better education and social system (Theft, drug dealing, and so on).
So, th stats make sense for me and show how great education and social systems are at improving people life here
Well. Truth hurts. But we can always just deny it.
Because foreigners are more likely to make noise after 10pm.
Half of the Swiss prison population are not residents of Switzerland, i.e. not Swiss and not foreigners living in Switzerland. Essentially they are foreigners who commit crimes while visiting or traveling to Switzerland. I guess that is a consequence of geography and Schengen.
Probably because of the quality of life in Swiss prisons, they might be offering attractive services 😂
If you take the ratio how much they are overrepresented we’re 5th after Greece, Austria, Italy and Finland.
The real question is why do you perceive it as a problem?
This is what happens when you do laundry on a Sunday.

We foreigners love to take a shit in the middle of the night.

25% or so are immigrants and integrating here is really hard which may leave to increased interest in criminal activity could be a hint.
