The committee has representatives for commuters, businesses and those with disabilities. Ridiculous for the ipa to try and paint themselves as the voice of motorists when their priority is profiting from the situation, which is of no benefit to drivers.

Innovate or be left behind in the dirt like other industries, eg fossil fuel mining, canal/dock workers, horses in nearly all their uses, cobblers, street lighters, town criers, your local baker’s, butchers, creameries, newspapers.

We need to CPO the city center car parks and use that land for retail at street level and apartments above, or offices if they’re in less nice areas.
Then pedestrianise more streets like South William Street that have no business being open to vehicles.
But apparently the car parks have good lobbyists, so it’ll probably take another decade or two to finally redevelop them.

I lived in ringsend and what the council have done is make life impossible for residents on that side of the city. Anti car ideological policies have made getting in and out of the city an ordeal at any time other than the dead of night.
