Farmer safeguards and nothing for our health as consummers. Wzll its better than nothibg at least with another country it could be delayed
It only needs a majority of EU countries to agree so hopefully it will go through.
It’s really crazy how everyone (especially in France because that’s where I’m currently) people keep complaining about the state of the economy and the recent bad performance of industry, but when a trade deal that could potentially boost the economy is made, everyone is crying about a minority of the population who might get damaged by it.
From the complaints in this thread, apparently there should be no deal… Europe isn’t willing to allow any S American products in, apparently. And if it’s only “let us sell you stuff!” why would they agree to that??
Why would S America ok a deal in which they get nothing? There’s gonna have to be, you know, trade.
If “letting their ag products in” is a deal killer, what exactly are you willing to allow in? Expecting them to allow more than you allow is insane.
How people can reject this treaty is beyond me, I mean, really? We are talking about high-value goods versus primary production, what are South American countries going to sell to Europe then? With the current state of affairs, Europe is set to fade into irrelevance in a couple of years if it doesn‘t change its short-sighted outlook
