Ciao ragazzi.
Grazie!!

My understanding is because Munich’s HBF is so big, the name is different to let you know what part of the station you will be going to in the case that the exact track is not yet listed. Yours says it is track 5 so that’s all that matters.
gl.5-10 is what the part of the station is called where platform 5 is located, which is a bit of a walk away from where you’re arriving
Platforms 5 through 10 are located a bit further away from the other platforms in Munich. Here is a map that might help you: [https://efa.mvv-muenchen.de/sta/hauptbahnhof.pdf](https://efa.mvv-muenchen.de/sta/hauptbahnhof.pdf)
The app just wants to inform you that you need to walk a few hundred meters to reach platform 5 from platform 17, where your first train is set to arrive at.
Platforms 5-10 are in their own section a little away from the others so I assume that is what is meant by this – also possible that the train could potentially leave from one of these. Though to be honest the actual platform stated on db (ie 5) is pretty accurate.
Just go to Gleis 5. It is written like that because Gleis 5 to 10 are a tiny bit further away. You can check out the map as well: https://www.bahnhof.de/muenchen-hbf/karte?gruppe=gleis
you can download a floor plan of the munich station beforehand 🙂 Its a bit confusing as its a giant U and Platgorm 1-10 is reached by walking a long u side along on another platform (when you are looking at the rails in the main hall its the far left side of the hall where you need to walk to 5-10). You need only to go to platform 5. 5-10 is just the name of the section.
