      He should do the decent thing and meet her and have a real discussion. To just say “nope” isn’t right either.

      Who would want this? FF won the lions share of seats and everyone who voted for them knew they wouldn’t go in with SF.

      I mean, FF was quite clear on not going into power with SF (although they said the same about FG, too).

      But given that SF have 2nd highest number of seats to at least look democratic to those who voted SF, they should meet with them (even if we all know the outcome).

      Won’t happen though

      I think SF-FG would work a lot better for FF than they expect, its obvious FG aren’t the popular party at the minute, Simon Harris isn’t overly liked throughout the country especially with the youth.

      There’d be merit in FF offering SF health, housing and a few junior ministries in return for supporting the government. Let’s see how serious SF really are about all these crises they tell us about.

      It would equally serve both to give FG a period in opposition and allow a more credible left alternative to SF grow while in opposition.

      Given the disaster this election has been, I could forgive a combination of parties that has more seats than FF, e.g:

      SF+SD+FF

      That is the only circumstance where I could consider forgiving parties for going in as ‘minorities’ in a coalition.

      Would we rule out SF going with FF if it lead to a United Ireland? As in agree to whatever FF wanted as long as that was the goal?

      I’ve been debating back and forth in my mind about it and it seems possible. Realistically SF would probably be a completely different party after a United Ireland.
