1: It’s a confirmation certificate, also giving the baptism date. Protestant.
2: the business card or calling card of the New York German Emigrant (or Expat) organisation apparently then in front of Castle Garden.

First is a certificate of protestant confirmation, the other one is some flyer for some German emigrant boarding house.
