1: It’s a confirmation certificate, also giving the baptism date. Protestant.
2: the business card or calling card of the New York German Emigrant (or Expat) organisation apparently then in front of Castle Garden.
All very interesting documents from the late 19th century. Thanks for sharing.
First is a certificate of protestant confirmation, the other one is some flyer for some German emigrant boarding house.
I have nothing more to add other than these are some really interesting finds! If you want a full translation of them let me know 🙂
