It’s really a resignation in name only, isn’t it? No one really has the seats to put another candidate forward.
Hear me out, what if we elected TDs, and then we got to elect the Taoiseach ourselves.
Why the rotating job?
I reckon it leads to weaker leadership because the first guy knows he has less time and the second guy has to keep an eye out for the election coming, and therefore will pander to the electorate in a bid to get reelected.
Only to come back as Taniste
Typical fine gael carry on as always.

Poor guy, losing his job a few days before Christmas. Wonder if he gets job seekers allowance, with less than a year on the job…..
