Timing is interesting. A message by Rutte to the Trump team? Trump seems obsessed with peace for the sake of peace, like we have to stop a fight between two children in the schoolyard or something. Totally ignoring the geopolitical angle.

      Kick Russia out of Ukraine!

And EU lacks deposits for most of these – or they are hard to extract. Majority has to be imported.

The first point for helping Ukraine is that it is the moral thing to do. They are beeing attacked by their fascist neighbours.

But Ukraine is also one of the greatest producers of grain in Europe. To let Russia get hold of that is very dangerous.

They already used the grain they stole from Ukraine to prop of Dictarors around the world

That lays a fundament for decent national weaponry industry in the future!

I respect the con but just because you can find some Cobalt in Ukraine doesn’t mean Ukraine is rich in Cobalt to the point that it somehow suddenly becomes a strategic region.

After some casual Googling it seems the only rare metal Ukraine provides to the EU is Gallium, and even that is dwarfed by Germany, not to mention imports as a whole.

You know they have it before ? In the cold war.

How they do it then we will do it and now.

Funny that at least 138 people upvoted it, without even be able to see anything in this pixel salad.

I squinted until I closed my eyes. Fell asleep. Woke up and tried to read this again. Fell asleep.

I can’t really read these, even zooming in, especially the red ones. Can you do a higher quality image because this is interesting?

There was an article in Reuters a couple of years ago about a list of consumer goods and how much Russia would pay for them to make their weaponry, things like the chips from a smart fridge and all sorts of electronics, as apparently at some point they just scavenged and repurposed parts instead of building them in house as they did under the Soviet Union.

Fascists do not run countries well, especially not in this day and age, anyone thinking they want fascism is sorely mistaken.

“main battle tank” with a picture of an IFV… come on

I wonder how many you people who comment actually think this could go global, all depending on what Trump does. And the wealthy will be calling on them to join the fight? But would they?

      >NATO released a list of 12 crucial raw materials. Without them, there can be no defense. Kyiv is rich in these raw materials.

I think you’ve inadvertently admitted the imperialist nature of this war *on both sides*.

I mean, you are aware that part of Zelenskiy’s peace plan involves selling off the mines for these raw materials to US and European enterprises? I.e., a “sovereign” Ukraine would be a Ukraine in which western countries plunder its natural resources for their own profits, which, funnily enough, was one of the reasons why Russia invaded: for Russian oligarchs to enrich themselves from Ukrainian resources…

Ukraine is a proxy war between Russia and Nato who both want to bleed Ukraine dry and this post is proof of that. Thanks for enlightening everyone. Maybe now more people in Europe will demand an end to the war.

    14. Oliiiverko17 on

And then someone wonders why this proxy war is being waged lol. Yes, it’s definitely about democracy on both sides.

    15. LilJQuan on

Europe basically needs to get jacked again and find a way to secure materials and supply chains.

    16. Can you post a shittier picture please? I can almost read it and that’s unacceptable.

    17. Those land resources where already sold and promised to American companies as per interview of republican senato Mitchell. Please do not talk about Ukrainian, they are being spoiled by russian and west.

    18. vaskopopa on

Wait! So we need to secure Ukraine in order to command and extract raw materials for our security?

Why couldn’t they say this from the beginning? Instead of spinning some moral bullshit yarn.

    19. CrazyTop9460 on

Funny how no-one can explain how Russia and Ukraine lived peacefully from 1991-2013. (Putin was president from ‘00)

Almost like this war was never about land or resources
