They need a few small boats like these corvettes, just to keep the coastal waters safe from smugglers and other criminals in peace time. The Brits have donated a couple of mine sweepers, which also have a 30mm cannon and heavy machine guns which can be used to keep coastal waters safe, once the mines have been dealt with. These can’t be used until there is peace and they can be brought through the Bosphorus Straights to the Black Sea.

None of these boats are meant for fighting a naval war and I don’t think Ukraine will ever need to invest in an ocean going navy. It’s just too expensive and they have the drones and missiles to keep the Russian Navy under control in the Black Sea.

One of them needs to make its way to the Baltic region.
