Get some of them nukes. That’ll make Russia sweat. The reason they don’t dare to attack NATO is because they only have two cities of value and knows they’d be turned to dust should they try.

They have nuclear reactors. I’m kind of surprised they haven’t ground up nuclear waste just to have the threat of dirty bombs.

This war has shown that other countries cannot be trusted. Security policy commitments can suddenly be worthless in certain domestic political situations.
All of Europe should consider how to deter a barbaric backward country like the Russian Federation when the US withdraws from its commitments (NATO, etc. …) for domestic reasons. We will all need an independent nuclear deterrent in Europe.

This is inevitable, it’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when.
Might sound good at first glance. But would they help at all? I don’t think so. If Ukraine was ever going to use nukes for defense, they would instantly lose every support from other countries. And Ruzzia could not longer be kept from using theirs. Note that they are not even allowed to use conventional weapons all the way they want right now.

It’s totally rational given the last 10+ years of the Russians’ proactive barbarity followed by the First World’s reactive appeasement of the Russians and half-аѕѕеd military support to the Ukrainians.
The Ukrainians’ getting an open door to NATO constantly slammed in their face since 2007 also leaves a mark despite NATO’s own advertised “Open Door Policy”. They don’t even have a fuсkіng “roadmap” to application (MAP – “Membership Action Plan”) to show for it. *Danke, Frau МеrkеІ* and *Merci Monsieur Sárközy* for that.
Just do it. I say this as a European. We have no wartime leaders, it’s all about de escalating the situation and appeasement. No one is willing to spend what is necessary and change our society based on peace and the idea of war will never happen again. Get those nukes.
